Members of the organizing committee, made up of stakeholders from the fields of education and culture, have been dreaming about creating this type of event on the Island for several years now. Lucille Fontaine, committee chair, is confident that the initiative will be very well received by the Francophone and Francophile population, as well as organizations and local business people. “We’re hoping that by attending our book fair, people will have a chance to access a great variety of Francophone literary works, and meet creative writers, which is what gives a book fair its charm and appeal. And the fact that we’re holding our event in the summer, just before the end of the school year, will be like a year-end present for our students!”
